Hospice volunteering is a new experience for me. One common theme when I am giving a hospice patient a little 15 minute session, is a sense of needing to reassure them. I find myself speaking to them non-verbally. Saying things like you are safe, God is waiting to embrace you, and think of all those loved ones who are anxiously awaiting your return to the afterlife. There are angels here to comfort you.

Many people feel lonely. Adding this reassurance in their energy field helps them to accept their situation. One man who was struggling with every breath, I found myself breathing deep breaths with him. After some time he would relax a little and start to exit his body or move from the connection with it. He was very lonely. I knew every time I would say goodbye with the energy work he would get back in his body and say energetically, wait don’t go! This happened a few times, but I felt the need to leave. One thing to note about this person who was so lonely: I did not want to be in his energy field. At least not for long. He was repelling people and did not even know it. I was as close as I could get. He had a lot to do with manifesting his own loneliness. My partner who was working on him said she also felt that she could not do hands on, and stayed a few feet from him. This is a good lesson for anyone who is lonely.
